Meta released Muse in September 2026 as a personal agent for everyone. It’s a polished product that asks very little of you, and it makes a different trade from Henchman.
Muse works from Meta’s cloud
Each Muse gets its own dedicated computer in the cloud, which holds the agent and your data. From there it browses, fills in forms, sends email and makes purchases through Link by Stripe, and it checks with you before steps like sending an email or buying something. You can use it on iPhone, Android, the web, a Mac app and in WhatsApp chats. It’s free for most uses, with paid plans for more. It’s rolling out in the US.
Henchman keeps the thinking on your Mac
Henchman is a free Mac app with no account. The thinking happens on your Mac with open models you add, so your prompts, memory and files don’t go to a model company. You hire a crew of henchmen with names and personalities, choose how much each one can do, and text them from Telegram, Discord or Slack direct messages while your Mac is awake.
Which one fits
If you want an agent that gets errands done on every device and you’re comfortable with it working from Meta’s cloud, Muse goes further. If you want a private crew on your Mac, Henchman is built for that.
