Most AI apps give you one chat box with one voice. Henchman gives you a crew. You hire each henchman for a job, give it a name and a personality, and it keeps its own ongoing conversation with you.
Hiring
Start from one of 51 job descriptions, like researcher, scheduler, shopper or writing partner, and one of 24 personalities, from terse to warm to properly henchman-flavoured. Then pick a face from ten characters: a suited operator with a crowbar, a janitor, a survivalist, a baller and more. Everything is editable, so a job description is a starting point rather than a cage.
Talking to your crew
- One conversation each. Every henchman keeps a single, ongoing thread with you, so you never wonder which chat you said something in.
- Steer or stop. Send a follow-up while a henchman is working to queue it or change direction now, and stop any task at any time.
- Long chats stay quick. Older parts of a long conversation are summarised so your henchman keeps up without slowing down.
- Keep a copy. Save any conversation as a Markdown document.
Teamwork
Put several henchmen in a group thread and talk to them together. A henchman can also bring in a helper for part of a job, or pass a question to a teammate, and you can see what each of them did.
Honest limits
Personalities change how a henchman talks and what it focuses on, not how clever it is. Every henchman thinks with the AI model on your Mac, so the crew is only as sharp as that model. And there are ten character faces, not hundreds.
