Email, calendars and files are where small jobs pile up. Your henchmen can take a share of them, at the level of trust you choose.
Connect a Gmail account and a henchman can:
- find and read messages, like “anything from the school this week?”
- summarise a long thread so you can catch up in a minute
- draft replies that wait in your Gmail drafts for you to check
- send, keeping replies in the right thread, if you let it
You see the email exactly as it will go out, with recipients, subject and body, whenever a henchman asks for a go-ahead.
Calendar and reminders
Henchman works with the Calendar and Reminders apps on your Mac, and with Google Calendar if you connect it. Ask what your week looks like, find a free afternoon, add an event, or turn a to-do list into reminders. An event is shown with its time, place and guests before it’s sent to anyone.
Files on your Mac
Give a henchman a folder, like Downloads, a project folder or your receipts, and it can sort, rename, summarise and write files there. File changes are recorded, and you can undo them from the activity list.
Connect extra tools
If you use other apps and services that offer connections for AI assistants, you can connect extra tools so your henchmen can use them too.
Honest limits
- Google setup. Connecting Google may need some setup on Google’s side first, depending on your copy of Henchman. It isn’t always a single click.
- How much it does alone is your call. New henchmen start with full access and get on with things. Set any of them to ask first instead. Either way, after a henchman reads your email it checks with you before sending anything or changing your calendar in that same task, so a sneaky email can’t steer it.
- It’s an assistant. It can misread a thread or pick the wrong time. Look over anything that goes to other people.
- Gmail and Google Calendar only for online accounts, plus the Calendar and Reminders apps on your Mac.
